Children & Child Care

Children & Child Care law quotes Having a child is surely the most beautifully irrational act that two people in love can commit. Children & Child Care law quotes

In the breakdown of any relationship between parents, the most important consideration must always be the welfare of the children. At Redferns Solicitors Weymouth & Portland Solicitors, we are able to provide you with specialist advice and representation to achieve an outcome which reflects the needs of your child or children. Our expertise covers residence and contact issues, parental responsibility, special guardianship and specific issues concerning a child's welfare. Additionally, we can advise in relation to child maintenance issues and financial provision for the benefit of a child.

Damian Summerscales is a member of the Children Law Panel. He is an accredited specialist in Public Law Proceedings relating to children. He has experience representing both parents and children alike in proceedings issued by Local Authorities for Care or Supervision Orders and in relation to Emergency Protection Proceedings. We recognise that parents may feel overwhelmed by the complex and highly emotional nature of such proceedings. We will take the time to explain matters to you in plain English and discuss the options available to you. We can, thereafter, represent you both in your dealings with the Local Authority and in court proceedings.

CLS Public Funding (legal aid) is available to all parents or other persons with Parental Responsibility, who are involved in Care/Supervision Proceedings issued by the Local Authority. We will be happy to meet with you at the earliest practicable opportunity to prepare the appropriate CLS Application Form and to take all relevant details.
